What are we about?

ASM is about life change. We want to be a place where students can come, feel safe, build friendships, and experience God in fresh new ways. We have leaders who want to live out 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ.” and 1 Thessalonians 2:8 “ we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” We are also committed to bringing life to the following 7 principles* by the time a student leaves ASM.

Authentic Faith
Confusion in this one area is the primary reason so many students abandon Christianity. True faith is confidence that God is who He says He is-and confidence He will do everything He has promised to do.

Spiritual Disciplines
The apostle Paul says that true spiritual transformation begins with a renewed mind. Only as teenagers begin to renew their minds according to the truths of Scripture and time with God will their attitudes and behaviors begin to change.

Moral Boundaries
Students need to know how to protect their bodies and emotions by honoring God’s plan for sex and morality. The depth of their intimacy with God and others is dependent upon it.

Healthy Relationships
The people students associate with the most will have a direct impact on the decisions and the standards they choose. Healthy friendships build them up and draw them closer to God; unhealthy friendships bring them down and cause them to compromise what they know is right. We want to help them to build healthy friendships while avoiding unhealthy ones.

Wise Choices
Good decision making is more than simply choosing between right and wrong. Teenagers need to learn to ask, “In light of my past experiences and my future dreams, what is the wise thing for me to do in this situation?” They have to know how to apply godly wisdom to the choices they make.

Ultimate Authority
Teenagers often view freedom and authority as opposing concepts. But the Bible teaches that true freedom is found under authority. Students need to recognize God’s ultimate authority and respect the earthly authorities He has placed over them.

Others First
Selfishness comes naturally to teenagers (and the rest of us!) Selflessness, however, must be learned. The Bible says that Jesus “made himself nothing” in order to serve the people He loved. He put the needs of others ahead of His own. Students must learn how to do the same.

The LOFT (High School 9th-12th)

Youth Group – Sunday mornings from 11:00am-12:15pm– Our high school students meet at 11:00am every Sunday morning in The LOFT to dig into the Bible. Join us for this service to connect with other high school students and to explore how the Bible is still relevant for our lives today.

The WAY (High School 9th-12th)

Youth Group – Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:45pm – If you’re a high school student, save your Wednesday evenings for The Way! We’ll get together as a large group for food, fun, games, worship, and a message. Then we break up into Small Groups to talk about how we apply the Biblical Truth to our lives.
***Starts back up August 21st!***

Small Groups (Middle School 6th-8th)

Small Groups- Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm ***Will start back up September 4th!***–  If you are a middle school student come and join our Small Groups on Wednesday nights. In Small Groups, students will have the opportunity to grow closer to God, get connected to other students their own age, and build a relationship with an adult leader who is passionate about them and God. It is a great place for students to learn how to be a Christian in today’s world through Bible study, great small group discussion, and healthy relationships. *** Registration Form can be picked up upstairs in The Loft or Online Registration Form.
