HOW TO CONNECT
When: Sunday @ 6:45 pm, Sept 16th-Nov. 25th
Where: ACC, The Loft
Group Make Up: College Age, 20’s
Topic: The Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit
Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives. “In the name of the Father, the Son, and … the Holy Spirit.” We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today’s church has admired the gift but neglected to open it.
Chan contends that we’ve ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan’s invitation to stop and remember the One we’ve forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.
YOUNG ADULT LIFE GROUP
When: Thursdays @7:00 pm beginning Aug 30th
Where: 11155 Forest Edge Dr. CS 80908
Group Make Up: 20’s
Topic: Revelation Bible Study
Despite popular opinion, Revelation is not an end-times mystery novel to be solved. It is a hard-times message to be embraced. Written to oppressed and persecuted Christians in the first-century, the book proclaims a powerful word of hope: at the end of the story, we win!
YOUNG ADULT FALL RETREAT
When: October 26th-28th
Where: Ponderosa Retreat Center, Larkspur, CO
Topic: Your Life Is Calling…
Speaker: Bekah Stewart
Cost: $75 (Register here by October 18th)
For over a decade, Bekah has worked with individuals and groups, helping them to discover more fully who they were created to be. Her work experiences include both the corporate and non-profit sectors. Bekah (almost!) has her M.A. in Soul Care & Spiritual Formation, and is a trained spiritual director and LifePlan facilitator.
Bekah is passionate about guiding others to consider Parker Palmer’s haunting question: “Is the life I am living the same as the life that wants to live in me?” She is gifted at guiding people to notice and name the deep meaning hidden in patterns and themes that emerge in their journey with God.
When not facilitating LifePlans, Bekah and her husband, Chad, are likely dreaming up ways to come alongside Denver 20-somethings, helping them thrive as they navigate life, faith & the city. Bekah & Chad have two kids and call the Virginia Village neighborhood in Denver home.
What We Are About
We desire every young adult to be authentically connected to Jesus and His Church. The journey of connecting more deeply to Jesus means we connect more deeply to His Church as well, building up one another in love.
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” – Ephesians 4:15-16
We desire every young adult to grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by challenging the mind, encouraging the heart, and forming new habits from the truth of God’s Word.
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:22-24
We desire every young adult to experience Jesus Christ in such a way that they have Jesus’ passion to love and serve a broken world—His love overflowing in their life to everyone they come into contact with.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you should love one another.” – John 13:34
